Wedding Bells at Pimhill Barn

Okay so I’ve made a new friend for life and her name’s Lisa. FYI, she’s awesome and I’m so privileged I was able to help get her ready for her big day along with my great friend and artist Victoria.

Victoria and I travelled up from London to Shrewsbury to help Lisa and her lovely maids ready for her big day and it was worth every mile. I haven’t laughed so hard at a bridal preparations morning as I did with these girls.

Lisa wanted a really good coverage on her skin to last all day and that’s what she got! I used Chanel Viatlumiere Aqua Foundation all over, which in itself is actually a glowing and light foundation. Then to add the higher coverage I used Bobbi Brown retouching wand and instant full cover concealer. Blended into the Chanel this gives an absolutely flawless finish without looking “heavy”.

The key to amazing make-up is great light. I’m always drawn to the lightest spaces and largest windows so I can see absolutely every detail of my clients skin and features. This ensures an application that is precise and clean.

Here’s the finished make-up in all it’s glory! It’s timeless, flawless and most importantly, glamourous which is how Lisa wanted to feel.

Now onto hair. This might possibly be one of my favourite looks I’ve ever done on a bride to date. Lisa really loved whispy, un-done texture but with lots of waves and movement. I pulled small pieces out at the top and at the base of the bun to create that “lived-in” texture whilst still looking extremely elegant and timeless.

Lisa wrote me the most beautiful testimonial, all of which couldn’t fit on the gallery so here are her words in full:

“Of all the seemingly endless decisions we made for our wedding day, the hair and make up artist was the one that really had me the most anxious …turns out needlessly so, as from the moment I found and hounded Cat via email, every bit of my anxiety diminished! To find someone, quite by chance, as incredibly talented as her is a rarity, but the icing on the cake was the fact that she is the most beautiful woman inside and out – the perfect combination of professionalism, fun and friendliness, she was the best company for my maids and I on the wedding morning. For me it was so important to be comfortable and have fun that morning, and it was more like getting ready with your best friends than with an almost stranger. Her work was simply impeccable on my trial day (meaning I got a styled night out in London courtesy of Cat!), and nothing short of unbelievable on the wedding day. The compliments my maids and I received all day are owed to Cat – I can’t shout about this wonderful woman and her magic touch loudly enough, so don’t look any further, you won’t find better!”

Thank you Lisa for being so wonderful!
