How long do trials last?
Trials generally last around 2-3 hours, sometimes more sometimes less, it will depend on whether you have a clear idea of what you want or if you would like to try a few different styles.
Can I book you without having a trial?
Having a trial makes it much less stressful on the day but for some people it just isn’t possible to organize a trial – if this is the case I usually try and Skype or call you first so we can have a chat about ideas!
Will the makeup last all day?
Your makeup is designed to last all day and keep you looking flawless until the early hours. We can also organize a personalized touch up kit which you can purchase for £40 (subject to expense of the products) – these include your lip colour, translucent powder and concealer, which are the key products you may want to use just for little touch ups throughout the day.
I have really sensitive skin – will your products be okay?
All of the artists’ products are hypo-allergenic and have skincare and cosmetics for all skin types so they shouldn’t cause a reaction however if you have had problems in the past please let us know so we can pass on the information to your artist. Also, we are happy to use any products of your own that you know you like to use on your skin.
What brands do you use?
Every artist at Unveil have their own personal kit with comprise of top brands such as; Bobbi Brown, MAC, Laura Mercier, NARS, Dermalogica, Chanel, and more. Before an artist can join Unveil, we look through their kits to ensure they are using the best products for you on your big day.
How should I get in touch?
The most efficient way for a new inquiry to reach us is by using the Contact form which you can find via the navigation. We try to be as quick as we can to respond to inquiries and questions, please send as much information as possible so we can find the right artist for your needs and location. What information do you need from a client?
By including all of the info below we can deal with inquiries more efficiently:
Name of the client;
Date of the wedding;
The time that the client needs to be ready for;
Name and address of the venue where our services are required;
The actual services required (i.e. hair styling, make-up or both) and for how many people; and
Any important information we should be made aware of, such as: a particular makeup and/or hair style that is required, if there any specifics about the client’s skin that are important, if there are any sensitivities to particular products, etc.
Do you charge for travel?
Every member of the Unveil team has a charge for travel. Travel charges are 50p per mile (based on a return journey). If an artist is required to go through a toll road or bridge this also will be added to the price of travel which will be discussed during the booking process.
Do you charge accommodation costs for long distance bookings?
If any of the team need to start prior to 8am accommodation charges may apply if the booking is over 50 miles from the artist’s location.
The specifics for these charges can be discussed during the booking process. For all bookings outside of the UK accommodation charges will apply, again to be discussed during the booking process.
Can I book more than 1 Unveil artist for my bridal party?
Absolutely, if there is a time constraint and it is not possible for 1 artist to provide the makeup for everyone who requires it, we can provide a suitable amount of artists to ensure everyone is seen to in good time and no one is rushed. This can be discussed with you during the booking process.
How do I secure my booking with my chosen artist?
To secure a booking with us please confirm by e-mail through the contact form and we will send an invoice for a £100 deposit for a booking with an Unveil artist, which once paid will secure the booking. This secures our availability on the agreed date and time. The deposit is deducted from the final amount due. Inquiries for which a deposit has not been paid are not confirmed and therefore our availability cannot be guaranteed. Your deposit is non-refundable.
How can I pay?
For deposits: payments can be made by cheque or bank transfer. Bookings are only secured once payments have cleared.
For the trial: Fee for the trial must be paid 7 days prior to the day your trial will take place.
For the wedding day bill in full: We will e-mail an invoice 5 weeks before the wedding date and the payment in full should be made 28 days (1 month) before the big day by either cheque or bank transfer.

When should I book my trial?
We suggest a trial should be between 3-6 months prior to the wedding day. If you have a trial too far in advance your ideas may change drastically prompting you to change your mind on your chosen style, but it’s totally up to you how far in advance you’d like it. The products used are noted to ensure the chosen look is replicated perfectly on the big day. Makeup and hair trials are not just for the purpose of working out the perfect look but also to ensure there are no skin reactions or sensitivities to the products used. It is however the client’s responsibility to inform us should any reaction occur after the trial so that we avoid use of the product(s) that caused it.
How do we make sure we don’t run late on the day?
Time disappears quickly on the morning of the wedding therefore we highly recommend scheduling plenty of time for after the hair and makeup before having to leave for the ceremony. At Unveil once your trial is complete and you’re happy with your look, we create an effective schedule for your whole bridal party to ensure we run on time.
Can I have a friend or family member at my trial?
Of course! It’s important to make sure you get an opinion of someone close to you that knows you well to make sure you’re happy and feel like you, plus it makes for a very fun experience!
Are your artists insured?
Yes, personal liability insurance is assured for each individual artist.
